The COP15 meeting in Paris in 2015 was historic. It laid out how we should be aiming to not increase the temperature of the Earth beyond 1.5C above the average temperature of the pre industrial period of 1850-1900, and we certainly should not be allowing the temperature to go above +2C. Unfortunately, countries are not heeding the warnings of scientists and are still trying to compete with each other and grow their economies in unsustainable ways. The temperature is measured over a period of twenty years but we have already started to exceed 1.5C during the last couple of years. Therefore, we must act now. If you are not an activist then become one because our shared future is very much in danger unless we all do.<\/p>
